Neptune Township

Neptune Township was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 26, 1879, from portions of Ocean Township. The township was named for Neptune, the Roman water deity, and its location on the Atlantic Ocean. Source: Snyder, John P.
